Description

This September, the Belgian Beer Garden @ PAC Mall returns to Jing’an for its third and biggest edition yet, running over two weekends on September 4–6 and September 11–13, 2026. Entry is free, with the festival open Friday from 17:00–22:00 and Saturday and Sunday from 12:00–22:00. And this one is getting seriously big.

About

The festival is expanding beyond the main PAC plaza, with a new festival area added closer to Changde Road. Across the different zones, expect 40+ booths and more than 1,000 seating spots, plus beer, Western food, communal tables, DJs, games and plenty of room to settle in for the afternoon or evening. There’s also a brand-new SKY LOUNGE on the second floor, overlooking the whole festival. Head upstairs for beers or cocktails, grab a table and watch the action from above when you need a break from the main crowd.

Shanghai doesn’t get beer festivals on this scale very often anymore. The last time the city regularly saw events this big was around the Beernanza era, and this edition of Belgian Beer Garden is shaping up to be one of the most imposing beer festivals in the city.

Last Edition in Numbers

The previous edition welcomed around 15,000 consumers and poured approximately 30,000 glasses of beer.

This year, the festival is taking a major step up: a larger footprint, new areas, more exhibitors, more food and 1,000+ seats across the venue. Basically, this is moving well beyond the usual weekend beer market.

Beer Lineup

The festival covers a wide range of Belgian beer styles, from crisp lagers and white beers to blond ales, fruit beers, strong classics, Trappist beer, Lambic, Gueuze and sours.

Expect Blanche de Bruges, Straffe Hendrik, Brugse Zot, Kasteel, 12m², Vedett, Timmermans, Cornelissen, Cuvée des Trolls, Broeder Jacob, Fruli, Chimay, Delirium, Boon, Gouden Carolus, Duchesse de Bourgogne, KVB and Stella Artois, plus Belgian-style craft beer from Short Tail Cat and Punk Cat Beer.

New to Belgian beer? Keep it simple: light fruity blond strong sour.

Start with Stella Artois, Vedett, Blanche de Bruges or KVB, then try Fruli, Kasteel Tropical or Kasteel Rouge. Move on to Cuvée des Trolls, Brugse Zot or Broeder Jacob, before stepping up to stronger beers like Straffe Hendrik, Chimay, Gouden Carolus and Delirium. Finish with Timmermans, Boon or Duchesse de Bourgogne if you’re ready for something more tart and adventurous.

Treat it as a guide, not a challenge: pick a few styles, share pours, drink water and come back for round two.

Food Lineup

There’s plenty to eat between beers.

Belgium Brasserie will be doing Belgian mussels, while Belgium Tradition Fries has the Belgian fries covered.

You’ll also find pizza from Ali Lando, Belgian-style kebab from Kebaba, skewers from Chuar Bar and IBAURSAK, and burgers from Momento.

For dessert, Elements Chocolats brings Belgian chocolate. And if you need a break from beer, Laiba will be serving cocktails.

Entertainment

Across both weekends, international DJs will take the festival from easy daytime beer-garden vibes into something considerably livelier once the sun goes down. There’ll also be games, interactive activities, prizes and beer tastings, giving people something to do between rounds.

Think less beer market, more proper city beer festival.

Why It’s Worth Going

This is the kind of event that works whether you’re a serious beer fan or just someone looking for a fun weekend plan. You can come to explore Belgian classics, discover harder-to-find beers, eat your way through a lineup of Western comfort food, catch the DJs, join the games, and spend a few hours outdoors with friends without needing to jump from venue to venue.

It’s also a pretty solid place to bring visiting friends, out-of-town guests, or anyone who wants a more lively, social, easygoing weekend in Jing’an. Good beer, good food, music, prizes, tastings, and a big open-air crowd are usually a pretty reliable formula.
