Querencia by Compañía Antonio Najarro is a large-scale Spanish dance production that blends flamenco, folkloric dance, and stylized movement into a visually rich performance. Featuring 14 dancers across 11 scenes, the show explores the essence of Spanish dance through music, costume, and choreography. It’s a tightly structured, high-energy performance rooted in tradition but presented with a contemporary edge.

Querencia takes its name from the idea of returning to a place of origin—a concept that shapes the emotional and artistic core of the production. Choreographed by Antonio Najarro, the work unfolds across 11 distinct scenes performed by 14 dancers, evenly split between men and women.

The piece brings together multiple styles of Spanish dance, including Escuela Bolera, stylized dance, traditional dance, and flamenco. Through Najarro’s choreographic vision, these forms are reinterpreted into a cohesive stage experience that highlights both their aesthetic beauty and expressive range.

Traditional elements play a key role in the visual identity of the show. Costumes and accessories such as the Cordobés hat, Manila shawl, Spanish cape, and the iconic bata de cola are integrated into the choreography, alongside castanets performed live by the dancers. The result is a performance that emphasizes both technical precision and theatricality.
