Chengdu duo Deep Water have been making waves over the past several years with their slick, sultry, and hypnotic sound - propulsive dream pop embedded with elements of post punk and indietronica and influenced by seminal 90s acts like Mazzy Star and The Jesus and Mary Chain. Equal parts sullen and tender, their sound is hoisted up by Xiao Man’s hypnotically stoically smoky vocals, Wang Bo’s smooth, simmering guitar riffs, and its buoyant yet submerged electronic elements.
