About the Show

This is a high-definition screening of the Royal Opera House production of The Magic Flute (Die Zauberflöte). Performed in German with Chinese subtitles, the opera blends fantasy, romance, and moments of humor through Mozart’s music.

The story follows Prince Tamino, who sets out to rescue Pamina at the request of the Queen of the Night. Accompanied by Papageno and armed with a magic flute, he embarks on a journey that reveals shifting truths and tests of love and character.

Directed by David McVicar, the production features stage design by John Macfarlane, including elements such as a panoramic night sky, animal sequences summoned by the flute, and a flying machine used by the Three Boys.
