Violinist, composer, and experimental musician Lingyun Chen (also known as Tristan's Oscillator) presents his new release, Phase Fragments, at trigger. With a foundation in classical violin, the Denmark-studied, Suzhou-based musician explores the violin thoroughly, blending multiple aesthetic elements, including improvisation, prepared violin, contemporary music, spectral music, and classical music. Pretty commanding stuff that isn’t afraid to ‘experiment with the most dissonant, noisy range of the violin or twist elements of Far-Eastern folk music’.
