This performance brings together Indian classical music and cross-cultural collaboration, led by bansuri flute maestro Rajat Prasanna. The show is split into two parts, moving from traditional North Indian ragas to an experimental fusion set blending global musical styles.
This concert explores the meeting point of Indian classical tradition and contemporary global music. The first half focuses on North Indian classical music performed by bansuri flute master Rajat Prasanna and tabla artist Mandy Chen, highlighting the expressive melodic system of ragas and the rhythmic structure of tala.
The second half shifts into a cross-cultural fusion performance by Where Is One, blending Argentine jazz, South African groove, Indian rhythmic structures, Chinese flute textures, and electronic soundscapes. The result is an evolving sound world shaped by improvisation and interaction between musicians from different backgrounds.
The performance is also part of the broader “Mandy’s Music House” project, which aims to build a bridge between Indian and Chinese musical traditions through collaboration and live performance.

Rajat Prasanna is a bansuri flute master from a 250-year musical lineage in the Benaras Gharana tradition. He is an All India Radio “A Grade” artist and has performed internationally across major festivals and state events. His work includes collaborations with orchestras, film soundtracks, and cross-cultural music projects, blending traditional Indian classical music with modern global influences.

Mandy Chen is a tabla performer and educator specializing in North Indian classical rhythm. She has performed at cultural institutions and festivals in Shanghai and internationally, and actively works on cross-genre collaborations including jazz, electronic, and world music.

A cross-cultural collective combining musicians from Argentina, China, and other regions. The ensemble integrates electronic music, jazz, and traditional instruments into an improvisational live performance framework.
This is a rare opportunity to experience Indian classical music performed by a master bansuri player in an intimate, cross-cultural setting. The program moves from traditional ragas into experimental global fusion, creating a layered listening experience that shifts from structured classical forms to free-flowing improvisation. The combination of Indian instruments with jazz, electronic, and Chinese elements makes this a unique live music encounter rather than a standard concert format.
