A reflective afternoon built around parenting, education, and mental resilience, this sharing session centers on architect and author Adam J. T. Robarts and his book Nineteen. Joined by Sherry Fu and Jingfan Wu, the conversation looks beyond the book itself to explore themes relevant to international education families — from accompaniment and resilience to the emotional impact of learning environments. Drawing from Robarts’ experience as a father, architect of major educational spaces, and long-time cross-cultural professional, the discussion touches on how young people navigate pressure, uncertainty, and personal growth.
Nineteen reflects on nineteen lessons inspired by Robarts’ son Haydn, whose short life shaped the perspectives shared in the book. Blending memoir, philosophy, and reflections from religion and science, the session expands these ideas into a broader dialogue: what it means to support children without over-protecting them, how resilience develops over time, and how physical and emotional environments — from campuses to homes — influence growth.
The afternoon includes a keynote sharing, panel dialogue, Q&A, and book signing, with a casual pre-event mixer beforehand.
