Mong Tong brings their 2026 “Tomorrow Tone” tour to Shanghai, collaborating with visual group XTRUX for a live audiovisual performance. The show combines psychedelic electronic music with real-time generated visuals, creating an immersive experience shaped by both sound and technology. Each performance is designed to be unique, with visuals reacting live to the music on stage.
Mong Tong’s “Tomorrow Tone” tour introduces a live performance concept that combines experimental electronic music with visual systems. The project collaborates with visual group XTRUX to expand the live experience beyond sound, incorporating real-time generated imagery into the performance.

The visual component draws from mythological imagery inspired by One Thousand and One Nights, constructed through a game engine system that reacts directly to the band’s live MIDI signals. Musical elements such as notes and effects trigger immediate visual changes, creating a continuously shifting audiovisual environment.

The concept of “Tomorrow Tone” (Future Folk) explores how traditional cultural elements can be reinterpreted through modern technology. The performance moves between structured composition and live unpredictability, with each show shaped by real-time interaction between sound and visuals.

Mong Tong

Formed by brothers Hong Yu and Jiun Chi, Mong Tong is known for blending experimental approaches with elements of local culture. Their music combines synthesizers, sampling, electronic production, and guitar and bass, creating a distinctive psychedelic sound.
XTRUX

A visual collective working with game engines, audiovisual systems, and interactive media. Since 2020, they have developed immersive performances that combine experimental electronic music with digital and spatial visual design.
This show combines live electronic music with a visual system that reacts in real time, making each performance different from the last. For those interested in experimental music, audiovisual art, or live formats that integrate technology into performance, it offers a chance to experience how sound and visuals can be developed together on stage.
