This concert marks the 270th anniversary of Mozart’s birth and serves as the opening performance of the 2026/27 season at the Shanghai Oriental Art Center.
Conductor and pianist Xu Zhong performs in a dual role, leading the Shanghai Opera House Orchestra while also playing the piano. The program focuses on Mozart’s piano concertos and symphonies, presenting works that span different stages of his compositional style.

As a pianist, he has won prizes in several international piano competitions, including competitions in Spain, Japan, and Russia.
The Shanghai Opera House Orchestra was founded in 1956. It is a symphony orchestra known for both opera accompaniment and concert performances.
The orchestra performs a wide repertoire ranging from classical symphonies and operas to Chinese works and contemporary compositions. It has collaborated with various conductors and artists and has toured internationally.
