The 11th PHOTOFAIRS Shanghai returns to the Shanghai Exhibition Center from May 7–10, bringing together over 50 galleries and institutions from home and abroad to showcase everything from classic photography to experimental images, installations, and cross-media projects. Highlights include Gladstone Gallery’s first solo presentation of Robert Mapplethorpe in China, Boogie Woogie Photography’s portraits of Picasso by Michel Sima, and Perrotin’s immersive works by JR, alongside domestic galleries like Three Shadows +3, Dewutang, ShanghART, and X CONTEMPORARY presenting both established and emerging artists. Running alongside the fair, it links nearly 40 city-wide institutions and landmarks, creating a cross-city, multi-platform visual network and offering visitors a chance to experience the full spectrum of contemporary photography in Shanghai.
