Samajam is a highly interactive family-friendly show that has taken North America by storm, now making its way to Shanghai. This live, high-energy performance blends music, rhythm, and English language learning, providing a 200% immersive experience for both kids and parents. Children will engage with the performers using musical instruments, including drums and color tubes, while learning basic English phrases like "left," "right," and "so good" through fun, dynamic games. It's an energetic and educational performance designed to ignite creativity and foster family bonding. Suitable for children ages 3 and up.
Originally popular across North America, You Are A Perfomer 2 is a Canadian interactive family theatre production built around rhythm, percussion, and hands-on participation. The show uses conversational English and dynamic music activities to create a lively, immersive experience that feels like a live music classroom rather than a traditional performance.
Over the course of the show, children and parents are guided through rhythm-based games and group performances, creating music together on the spot. With a strong focus on energy and participation, the performance delivers a percussion-centered experience with constant audience involvement.
The show features full-audience participation, where everyone joins in playing music together. Since 2018, the interactive repertoire has been upgraded, adding new pieces familiar to children and specially adapted for drum-based interaction. Some of the music is kept as a surprise for the live show.
The performance also incorporates English-language learning through music games. Two performers lead children through commonly used words and simple phrases, such as “left,” “right,” “up,” “down,” “tube,” as well as short expressions like “you are amazing” and “so good.” Kids learn and use the language directly during the show.
Audience members use four types of interactive “instruments” during the performance: a pair of specially designed wooden safety drumsticks, colorful boomwhackers, a hand drum, and their own bodies. The show runs for around 60 minutes of continuous interaction, with music-making happening both onstage and in the audience.
Parents are encouraged to participate alongside their children, turning the experience into shared family time where everyone becomes a “musician” together.
This is a performance where there’s no sitting back and watching quietly. With constant interaction, live music-making, and hands-on English learning, it offers families a chance to actively experience music together. The format allows both children and parents to take part equally, making it a shared, high-energy experience rather than a one-way show.
