Founded in Shanghai in 2016, Taste of Music hosts irregular gatherings in Shanghai and Tokyo, letting music follow the mood rather than genres or venues. Over time, it has built a vibrant community of music sharers, welcoming anyone willing to share great sounds. Since 2020, there have been no lineups or schedules, creating space for genuine connection and a relaxed, warm atmosphere. ST〆Y IRRELEVANT, an event series by XIME, embraces things that won’t go viral and don’t boost personal branding, focusing instead on strange conversations, imperfect ideas, niche music, low-resolution emotions, and real human connection beyond the screen—no trends, no hustle culture, no buzzwords, just people, food, drinks, art, noise, and whatever happens in between. Founded in 2017 by chef Sam Norris and architectural professional Mavis Lian, XIME is an independent contemporary Japanese izakaya and exhibition space in Shanghai.
