We are currently looking for an experienced Executive Chef to lead culinary development and kitchen operations across both restaurants.
Position Executive Chef Full-time · Shanghai Jing’an District
Cuisine Focus:
- Western Cuisine
- Asian Fusion
- Grill & Fire-based
Cooking Work Schedule:
- 5.5/6 working days per week
Core Focus of the Role:
This role is primarily focused on:
- 1. Product (SKU) Development & Innovation
- 2. Kitchen Operations & Standards
- 3. Team Training & Kitchen Management
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Development & Culinary Innovation
- Lead menu R&D under existing restaurant concepts
- Develop competitive and commercially viable new SKUs
- Create seasonal dishes, signature items, and new product categories
- Improve existing recipes, presentation, consistency, and customer appeal
- Build structured recipe systems, costing, and kitchen execution standards
- Kitchen Operations
- Oversee kitchen operations across both restaurants
- Maintain food hygiene, safety, cleanliness, and operational standards
- Ensure consistency of taste, presentation, and execution
- Improve kitchen workflow, organisation, and service speed
- Support food cost control and operational efficiency
- Team Management & Training
- Train and develop kitchen teams
- Establish SOPs and kitchen standardisation systems
- Maintain strong kitchen discipline and teamwork culture
- Help improve team performance, accountability, and kitchen behaviour standards
Requirements
- Proven experience as Executive Chef / Head Chef in modern Western or fusion restaurants
- Strong product development and menu R&D capability
- Ability to independently develop creative and commercially viable dishes
- Understanding of food costing, kitchen efficiency, and operational systems
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Proactive, patient, hardworking, and solution-oriented
- Able to solve operational problems instead of creating additional issues
- Strong ability to manage, train, and positively influence kitchen teams
- Hands-on and operationally minded
- Ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment
