Description
The ideal candidate will be a native or fluent English speaker with strong bilingual skills in Chinese and a proven track record in B2B food sales in China. This role requires a self-motivated professional who can build relationships, negotiate deals, and drive growth across high-end hospitality and retail channels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement sales strategies to expand the distribution of UK-imported snacks and confectionery in offline channels across Shanghai and other key cities.
- Identify, approach, and secure partnerships with hotels, restaurants, cafes, boutique supermarkets, and corporate gift suppliers.
- Manage key accounts, build strong long-term relationships, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Conduct product presentations, tastings, and trade promotions to drive brand awareness and sales.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to adapt sales strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate with marketing, logistics, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery.
- Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and market analysis for management review.
Requirements
- Native or near-native English speaker; fluency in Chinese (Mandarin) is essential for negotiations and daily communication.
- Based in Shanghai, with a valid work permit for China.
- Minimum 5 years of B2B sales experience in the food & beverage industry, preferably with imported products.
- Strong existing network in hospitality, retail, or foodservice channels in China is a significant advantage.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Self-driven, result-oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Willing to travel within China as required.
