This is a remote role, though we’d ideally like someone based in Shanghai who understands the city, its neighbourhoods, dining scene, expat life, and local practicalities. The work is paid per piece/article, with pay negotiable depending on experience and the level of editing required.

What you’ll do:

Edit and improve drafted articles for clarity, tone, accuracy, and flow. Add local insight, practical detail, and a human touch. Check facts, names, locations, and general accuracy where needed. Help maintain a consistent style across the site. Work with a high degree of autonomy and minimal supervision.

• Strong written and spoken English.
• Good attention to detail. Ideally based in Shanghai, or at least very familiar with the city.
• Comfortable editing written work to ensure it sounds attractive and has a unique voice.
• Able to work independently and manage your own time.
