Ippudo is an international chain renowned for its Japanese ramen noodles. As with most Japanese specialty restaurants, the menu is pared down to a few items. The noodles come in five or six different kinds of soup with different seasonings and toppings. Other supplementary items include sides like gyoza, or pan-fried dumplings, and pork buns (definitely worth trying). Ramen purists have thumbed their nose at the place, but we think it's pretty good for Shanghai. Expect a wait at peak hours.
