The Shanghai First Maternity and Infant Health Hospital was established in February 1947 and is one of the earliest provincial and municipal maternity and child health hospitals established in the country. In 1992, it passed the review of the first batch of baby-friendly hospitals in the country, and in 2006, it became the first maternity and infant health hospital affiliated to Tongji University. In 2009, it claims to have delivered 30,000+ babies. The hospital's services include OBGYN, neonatology, family planning, breast and cervical screening, surgical anesthesia, TCM, and pediatrics.
