Highly regarded among local Shanghainese, this is a down-to-earth and very reasonably priced xiaolongbao joint that reportedly was awarded the prize of "officially recommended food" during the World Expo in 2010. That also means that it's typically packed. The focus is classic pork xiaolongbao: thin skins, proper soup inside, no gimmicks. Prices are refreshingly old-school, with a basket of pork xiaolongbao coming in at 11rmb for a basket of eight dumplings. The san xian ("three fillings" consisting of pork, shrimp, and chicken) wonton soup is also excellent, at 18rmb. It's a no-nonsense setup with fast turnover and a crowd that skews local.
