Simple, warm, and well-done izakaya open since 2008 just a few minutes walk south of Tianzifang. They serve all the classic Japanese comfort food like bbq skewers, ramen, fried chicken, seafood, cold dishes and salads, and of course, lots of draft beer and shochu. Somehow the bill here only comes out to 100-150rmb per person, even after consuming a ton. Service is friendly and the place has charm in that minimal way, with lots of well-designed posters for Japanese alcohol brands. Corner seat by the window is recommended for rainy nights. Go for the chicken skin skewers, the grilled fish or full squid, and the matcha ice cream for dessert. You may want to RSVP as the place isn't that big.
