Just what it sounds like: one of the most shabby, oil-stained street restaurants in the whole of Shanghai, which happens to sell excellent but expensive deep fried water snakes. These come with super crispy batter covered with the signature seasoning and the tender white snake meat inside is on another level compared to most fried chicken. The place is just tiny tents with bare light bulbs hanging above your head. Not the nicest digs for a place where the snake starts at 400rmb and goes up to 1500rmb for their signature soup, but the vibes are heavy and the snake is great. This is a "no BS" dining experience, for sure.
