The German School was founded in 1995. Since the opening of the new campus in Pudong in 2007 it comprises of two locations - the EuroCampus in Puxi and the PudongCampus. The German School Shanghai offers education from Kindergarten to high school graduation (German Abitur and international IB). Language of instruction is German and it is therefore essential for all students to have German language skills on a native level. With currently around 1100 students and almost 150 professional teachers the German School Shanghai is one of the biggest German schools abroad. German School Shanghai is a full-time school and offers, in addition to regular classes, a wide range of afternoon activities. The school is equipped with modern facilities like the largest German library in China, sports grounds, indoor gym, swimming pool and a theatre in the fine art centre.
