A casual dining chain restaurant in the refurbished Shanghai No. 1 Department Store's food court. It does modern Shanghainese and dim sum, with dishes like xiaolong tangbao, scallion noodles and pancakes, Shanghai braised paella, sand-dried yellow croaker and dan dan noodles. They try to hold themselves to a maximum 25 minute wait time, but adjust your expectations; it's a popular restaurant in a mall. The original Dining Room comes from Hong Kong, launched in 2012.
