Dancing dumpling is one of two exclusively vegetarian dumpling spots. This one is right next door to Caobao Lu station and slightly more accessible for those living downtown. They have various vegetarian and vegan dumplings, simple Shanghai-style staples, and snacks like soup xiaolong, sliced daikon pancake and fried tofu curry with glass noodles. Dishes that are non-vegan are marked with an egg sign. They also have a few cold dishes, like Chinese toon and celtuce cold salad, as well as Shanghainese’s favorite kaofu (wheat gluten). Good for cheap and quick eats.
