Puppy Cubby Café is one of (possibly the) best puppy cafes in Shanghai, built by dog lovers, for dog lovers. It hews close to the Japanese progenitors of the genre; clean, relaxing, and humane. The name is less about age and more about the size of the dogs; it's home to a dozen adorable puppers of small breeds, including Bichons, Corgis, Poodles, Pomeranians, Pugs, Frenchies, etc. Each one has a name and a bronze plaque on the wall introducing them. They're clean, well-exercised, well-fed, and exceedingly sociable. The "talent" and the cafe are separated by a glass wall, to minimize distractions from the dog-cuddling experience, as well as to keep things hygienic and safe. The cafe area serves the genuine article; Japanese-styled desserts like Matcha Partfaits with Mochi and Dango, and a range of Belgian Waffle Pops served with imported New Zealand Soft Serve. Hot or iced fresh fruit teas, herbal teas, crazy milkshakes, frappes, and coffees are also available. One hour surrounded by puppy love in the dog lounge costs around 100rmb, and includes a dessert. Please note that children 5 years and below are not allowed to enter the dog lounge.
