A staple of the live music scene in Shanghai, Live Bar hosts punk, metal, and rock shows featuring local and domestic Chinese touring bands. Although the venue is pretty far from the city center (around 35rmb in cab fare), Live Bar is consistent is hosting newer, younger Chinese bands on the weekends. Cover is usually in the 30rmb range and the beer is cheap at 10rmb per bottle. Keep an eye on the venue for larger bills too, with more than five bands on the bill playing "mini festival" type shows.
