This is where most domestic and Pan-Asian flights depart from (Airport Code SHA). Unless you live in Pudong, you should try to book local flights from Hongqiao Airport, not Pudong, since it's well-connected by the metro and just a short ride from downtown, or a 20-minute taxi ride (no traffic). There are also two terminals, not yet connected by public transit, so you really need to make sure you arrive at the correct terminal or you won't be able to make it on time. All fast trains to Beijing leave from the train station next to the Airport (the whole thing is called the "Hongqiao Traffic Hub").
