Nanjing Dong Lu Pedestrian Street is Shanghai's busiest shopping street and one of its oldest central thoroughfares. Since 2000, the city government has designated it a pedestrian zone, renovating it into a promenade flanked on both sides by dozens of heritage shops and flagship stores for international brands like Nike at the eastern-most end and the Apple Store near where it intersects with Henan Zhong Lu. In 2020, the street was further extended all the way to Zhongshan Dong Yi Lu on the Bund. During the day, it is packed with both domestic and international tourists. Good for a walk, but maybe just once.
