Five minutes walk from the busy shopping street Nanjing Dong Lu, The Great Theatre of China is an 88-year-old historical building designed for theatrical performances. The theatre used to be one of the top four Peking Opera houses in Shanghai. In June 2018, after a six-year renovation, it opened its door again to the public. The auditorium has three floors and a total of 878 seats, equipped with top level sound and lighting systems. Expect to see programs featuring theater groups from all over the world, talks, and Q&A from the crews.
