Colorful, trip-worthy, and old-school clothing market in Putuo, about a 20 minute cab ride from Jing’an. Spread across the second and third floors of this building (the first floor has flowers at great prices), the shops at this market deal in all kinds of legit vintage garb as well as some mystery gear and what are probably export pieces with minor flaws. They have everything from accessories and shoes to suits, dresses, pants, jackets, and more here. There’s probably at least 100 shops total, and the quality, curation, and prices vary wildly depending on the spot. You can find some pretty good items here if you dig. Prices are generally a bit negotiable, and cheaper than vintage shops downtown. If you remember the Anxi Lu clothing market in Changning, it’s a bit like that but with some nicer drip. It’s not the greatest vintage selection in the world but it’s worth a trip uptown, as there’s a lot here and some decent potential to find some gems, as we have.
