Excellent and affordable Sichuan restaurant serving up authentic, spicy classics like mapo tofu, lazi ji, bullfrog, and fish dishes, which are especially good. A great thing about this place is they’re open all day and open late. Really friendly service, too. If you’re looking for a spot to get some straight-up legit Sichuan food (i.e., not fusion, not toned down) in a comfortable and homey environment, this is a good one. The vibe fits the English name “Wu’s Cooking” for sure. There’s a big fridge full of beers, soy milk, and more to peruse, too. It’s easier to get a table at this location in Putuo than the one across town in Changning.
