One of Shanghai's oldest bars, which used to be on Tongren Lu before that street was cleaned up. Then it was on Nanyang Lu forever and was... quite a place. How do we put this... It was very popular with foreign men and friendly Southeast Asian women. A new one opened up around 2024 here on this very busy stretch of Maoming, and while it does retain a bit of that distinctly old-school Shanghai vibe, it's definitely lost some of the rougher edges. There's a band playing pop covers at high decibels and lots of multicolored lighting. The crowd is very much a certain type of men who might be searching for some simulacrum of Pattaya or whatever.
