Kook Records is a secret amongst Shanghai dj's. It's one of the rarest of the rare -- a record shop. Joe Citizen, the English-speaking Shanghainese owner, buys 12" singles from Guangzhou in bulk, and sells them for 5-10rmb a piece. Selection is a crapshoot, but is usually a mix of chart hip-hop, electronic stuff from the last 5 years, occasional 80s, and bad R&B.
