An independent, non-profit organization that supports the business endeavors of members in the East China region with a raft of training programs, information, business resources, members-only events, opportunities to expand your network, and services such as a membership directory and referral service. They've got in-house Focus Groups in 12 specific sectors, such as Education, Chinese Returnee UK Alumni, and a Manchester Working Group. They hold regular sundowners and mixers, an annual St. Andrews Ball in November (the longest running social event in Shanghai), and a British Business Awards ceremony. Tracing its history back to 1915, when the British Chamber of Commerce was founded with 60 members, before becoming the British Business Association in 1985 and then finally again becoming the Chamber of Commerce in 1995.
