Typical spend

The typical spend is an editorial estimate of what most guests will spend per person at this venue. It’s meant to give you a quick idea of how expensive a place feels, not an exact bill. We base this on:

  • public menus and dish prices
  • average spend data from Dianping
  • our team’s editorial judgment

For restaurants, this usually means: one main dish + one drink per person.
For bars: around two drinks per person.

  • $ - Under 100 RMB/pp
  • $$ - 100-200 RMB/pp
  • $$$ - 200-500 RMB/pp
  • $$$$ - 500+ RMB/pp

Disclaimer: Prices can vary depending on what you order, promotions, and menu changes. This is a guide, not a guarantee.

Editor's Description

Last updated: Jun 15, 2026
Open for well over two decades, Ding Te Le is 24/7, no-frills Shanghainese noodle and congee shop that locals swear by. Nothing fancy here, just a busy, slightly retro counter serving up homestyle noodles, rice porridge, curry, and classic sides. The signature dishes are the yellow croaker noodles in rich, fish-based stock and the deep-fried pork chop. A bowl of the yellow croaker noodles runs 48rmb (68rmb for the version with more concentrated broth), with other noodle soups and congee bowls landing in the 20-40rmb range depending on toppings. Sides like pork chops or simple noodles are usually 10-20rmb. It’s open 24/7 and has people coming in at all hours of the day, but it's especially packed during lunchtime, early evening, and of course, late at night with people spilling in from INS, Tx Huaihai, and elsewhere in the city. This place is a destination at 5am. Find it just inside the alley at 494 Huaihai Lu.
