Boom is the Shanghai club owned and managed by the Cool DJ Agency and DJ Mag China, they’re your purveyors of basically all the DJ Mag Top 100 bookings in China since 2004 -- Deadmau5, Tiesto, Paulk Van Dyk, Ferry Corsten, Carl Cox,and more. Boom is their club for their smaller bookings, as the venue maxes out at around 500 people. Split between three main spaces, look for VIP tables, bottles, and dice in the back -- the main part of the club -- decked out in regal, vinyl reds and golds. This is the section that does the business when they don't have a big name to pack out the other spaces in the place -- a larger dance area in the front and an enclosed terrace space upstairs. Open Wednesday to Saturday, music is tech and house, and offshoots therein, and keep an eye out for their big-name DJ bookings if Top 100 DJs are your thing.
