XP (Xiao Ping aka "The New D22) is a small live music performance space from the concerns behind local label Maybe Mars, orientated to showcasing new experimental and improvisational music from Chinese and visiting musicians. In addition to the bar and stage, the space also contains a record store with a complete stock of most Beijing and Chinese releases. Music events are nightly, Tuesday to Sunday, with an orientation towards noise, electronica, experimental, and subterranean frequencies, with the odd punk, shoegaze, and indie rock show thrown in for good measure.
