Cheap, small and just a bit grubby, Zhengyuan specializes in hui mian, or "braised noodles." Hailing from Henan province, the noodles are cut thick, stretched flat and served in a rich soup made from mutton bones. Noodles usually come accompanied with chunks of beef, mutton or, for the more adventurous, donkey. Honestly, the meat itself here tastes a little weird, but the soup is really good. They also have some plates of cold vegetables and you can throw an egg on anything for like 2rmb. Solid bet for a drunken late-night meal after Yongfu Lu.
