Nestled in a residential area of northern Jing'an, The Cactus is a "Mexican Cantina" that combines classic China-style Mexican restaurant decor -- big cheesy sombreros on the walls, flags of the world decals, big bright furniture, Top 40 pop on the stereos -- with some surprisingly decent Mexican food and drinks. All the usuals on the menu at not-too-bad price levels: tacos, burritos, enchiladas, nachos, jalapeno poppers, avocado salads, and more. Not really rewriting the book here but not a bad option if you're in the area and are looking to satisfy a craving. Good service as well.
