Andrew Lloyd Webber's School of Rock came to Shanghai Grand Theatre last week and it has won so many hearts already. The musical based on Richard Linklater's 2003 movie led by Jack Black, probably most remembered by the classic line: "I was touched by your children and I'm pretty sure I touched them too", is full of zeal and energy. The young actors are truly talented. And the lead actor actually encourages you to take pictures of the performance at the end. The audience at the show that I went was certainly touched by it, some went nuts. It's the rock musical that Shanghai desperately needs in its system. Great for family and kids, we highly recommend it. The cheaper seats on SmartTicket have already sold out. If you want to go, you better act fast.
