What you need is a good distraction. Here's three.
Oct 2-6, 9.30am-4.30pm @iStage Academy
SUPERCALIFRAGILISTICEXPIALIDOCIOUS… sorry, got a bit carried away there. There’s this five-day, Mary Poppins musical theater camp from iStage during the National Holiday for kids eight and up. Campers begin with the basics and acting and then get to strut their stuff in a final performance — which should prove to offer you some cute photo ops. Camp fee is 6,580rmb, scan the QR code to book.
Oct 1-5/6-8, 9am-3pm @ ICONX Skatepark (Crystal Plaza Mall)
Before Tony Hawk could, you know, kickflip, he likely had a bit of help. If your kid has found a love of skateboarding, the guys at ICONX will have two camps for kids 6-15 to help them learn how to get back up after a fall, make new friends and build their X-Games potential. Tickets cost 3,299rmb for the five-day camp or 2,099rmb for the three-day camp.
Oct 1-5, 9am-Noon @ Active Kidz Childers Field (Puxi)/ Qiyi Football Park (Pudong)
A chance for youngsters to work on their soccer, football (whatever you want to call it) skills, to learn new ones, and meet other footie fans. First half of each day will be dedicated to warm-ups, training and tactics, with the last half for playing matches. The Camp will run in two locations and be available to both girls and boys 6-15 years old. Opt either for one day for 400rmb or the whole camp for 1,800rmb. If you're based in Puxi, Active Kidz will also run a camp for younger players at its Childers Field location. Click here for more details.
