After a big opening last weekend the much adored, much attended Christkindlmarkt on the Bund is returning this weekend, and every weekend until December 26.

Due to demand and safety, however, they’ve had to adjust their operation hours.

So, take note:

Christkindlmarkt is open Friday, from 4pm to 10pm; Saturday and Sunday, from 12pm to 10pm.

There is an entry fee of 20rmb (pre-sale available here only); and 30rmb at the door.

Let the scent of roasted almonds and gingerbread fill the air…

From December 11, The Bund Finance Center (BFC) will launch its 24-day ‘Time of Joy’ Christmas carnival. They have a a nearly 200 square-meter ice rink, one of the few options for skating on near the Bund this year. On the weekends from December 11 to 19, they'll have ice skating performances to watch, and this year they're partnering with Jazz at Lincoln Center Shanghai to bring outdoor live jazz performances. As usual a Christmas market, artificial snowfall, and a lot of activities for kids.

JS Markets and Ambassy Club are teaming up again for another market at Ambassy Court on Huaihai Middle Road (near Shanghai Library). They'll have over 85 vendors (!!!) with hand-crafted gifts for everyone on your shopping list. They'll also have lots of food options to keep you pumped and energized while you shop around for your holiday trinkets. Live music by Ismael and Yusuf will keep your steps light as you explore the locally designed fashion and lifestyle goods. Photo ops with Santa Claus will be available throughout the day. Market opens to the public at 11am.

Charity! Aperol Spritzs! Pasta! Feeling the urge to give this year? You better! Head down to Italo for their second Charity Christmas Market. Last year they donated 55,000 RMB to Heart to Heart with support from guests. Great! This year, they're making it bigger with teaming up with TWENTY chefs across the city for a 5-station buffet and free-flow wine, beer, cocktails, and soft drinks for 298 RMB (a damn good deal, even better for charity!). Chef's from Italo, La Scala, ROMA, Food Anatomy, Da Marco, Porto Matto, and many more will be there. Eat, drink, and be merry knowing your contributions are going to help children needing heart surgeries in China.

Paulaner's 15th annual Christmas market has moved it's location a few times, from it's original Fenyang Lu location to the Paulaner in Pudong, and now to it's new home at the Paulaner Raffles City (back to Puxi thank God!). It's on every weekend in December plus on Christmas Eve. Expect a cozy atmosphere where part of the Market is outdoors, and another part will be hosted indoors. Traditional food and drinks, local vendors and plenty of activities for the kids.  Free entry to the Christmas Market, opening on Saturday from 11am to 10pm, Sunday from 11am to 9pm, and Christmas Eve from 3pm to 10pm.

The Christmas Market and the Green Escape St. are two of the yearly highlights at Kerry Jing’an in festive seasons. From November 20th to December 26th, twin-market will be happening from 2pm to 10pm at every weekend. The Green Escape Street features a lot of...plants, many that you can buy! The Christmas Market will have food and craft vendors. Starting from December 3rd, the Christmas Market at THE PIAZZA section of the mall will feature live bands, a cappella and parades, as well as a series of themed interactions.

[This market has been cancelled] The Christmas Commune Market is back. If you're around Yongping lane, this is a great neighbourhood market to enjoy with family and friends. Mulled wine, candle makers, and food vendors of course all on display for two weekends only! Dec 3-5 and 10-12, join in for good eats, drinks, art, and music. Free entry to all.
