6 years of blood donations

For six consecutive years since 2019, Jiahui Health has held annual blood drives to spread hope to our patients and community, resulting in a total of over 194,600 ml of blood donated by 828 participants.

On Monday, March 31st 2025, Jiahui Health will join forces with the Xuhui District Blood Management Office and Shanghai Shenhua Football Club, to run a special football-themed blood drive.Join us in building a stronger safety net for patients!

Goodies for Blood Donors

Every blood donor will receive:

  • 1 nutritional care pack
  • 1 small gift
  • voucher for 1 doseinfluenza vaccine

Important Info

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Age range: 18 to 55 years
  • Women must weigh over 45 kg, and men must weigh over 50 kg
  • Must not have donated blood in the past 6 months

Situations that require you to postpone blood donation include:

  • Had a tooth extraction or other outpatient surgery (surgery that does not require overnight stay) within the last 2 weeks
  • Taken cold medicine, pain relievers, or other medications within the last 7 days
  • Received dental treatment, including teeth cleaning, within the last 3 days
  • Menstruating or within the last 3 days of your menstrual period
  • Pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Had surgery within the last 6 months
  • Received a blood transfusion within the last year
  • Been vaccinated for measles, mumps, rubella, rabies, hepatitis B, or similar vaccines within the last year

Guidelines

Before Donation:

  • Avoid alcohol intake for 24 hours
  • Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water
  • Ensure you get enough sleep
  • Maintain a healthy diet by avoiding high-fat and high-sodium foods. Consider increasing your intake of iron-rich foods, such as spinach, broccoli, and red meat.

On The Same Day

  • Please remember to: Bring your original ID card or passport
  • Avoid donating blood on an empty stomach
  • Refrain from participating in high-intensity exercise on the day of donation
