GoEast Mandarin's Chinese Day Camp returns this summer at our Zhongshan Park campus in Shanghai. A weekday camp for kids and teens aged 9–17, running from June 15 to August 15. Half-day and full-day options are available. Tuition from 6,800rmb.

The camp is built for for expat families and international families living in Shanghai — a summer childcare option where children actually learn Chinese. Students build real Chinese skills through small-group lessons in the morning. In the afternoon, cultural activities like exploring the local market, kung fu, calligraphy put kids in real situations where they actually use Chinese learned in the mornings.

True language immersion in every class

Before camp starts, every student takes a placement assessment. Based on the results, children are grouped by age (9–12, 12–15, or 15–17) and Chinese level (Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced) into small group Chinese classes of no more than 6 students. Each class is formed around students at a genuinely similar level. Even if only one or two students are at a particular level, we open a class for them rather than merging them into a group that doesn't fit.

Lessons are structured around real communication, focusing on speaking and interaction. Students are expected to use Chinese actively — not just listen and repeat. From day one, kids start speaking phrases and building vocabulary that sticks.

"After camp ended, my daughter kept asking if there's a Golden Week program. She wanted to continue." — Camp parent, Summer 2025

Experienced Teachers. Fair Pricing.

Every camp teacher holds a Master's degree in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language, with direct experience teaching international learners aged 9–17. The student-to-teacher ratio is 6:1, so every child gets consistent attention.

Tuition starts from RMB 6,800 for the half-day program and RMB 10,800 for full-day, roughly a third less than comparable small-group camps in Shanghai.

A Day Camp That Fits Your Schedule

GoEast's camp runs every weekday. The half-day program runs 9:00–12:00; the full-day program runs 9:00–16:00. Drop off in the morning, pick up after lunch or in the afternoon. Your child spends the day in a safe, supervised environment focused on Chinese language immersion, while you handle your schedule.

The Zhongshan Park campus is near Metro Lines 2, 3, and 4, with restaurants, shops, and hotels all within walking distance. Medical insurance is included for all campers.

How We Keep Parents Informed

Throughout the camp, teachers observe and track each student's learning progress and share regular feedback with parents, including tips and materials you can use at home to support what they're learning. At the end of each session, families are invited to a graduation ceremony where students perform and present what they've accomplished.
