CBT-I Group Therapy Now Recruiting | Say Goodbye to Insomnia, Rediscover Restful Sleep

Tossing and turning for hours? Waking up at 3 a.m. and staring at the ceiling? Getting up exhausted long before your alarm? If you're tired of being tired, you're not alone.

The Department of Psychology at SinoUnited Health is now recruiting participants for our CBT-I Group — Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia, an English-language group therapy program starting this October.

What Is CBT-I?

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is one of the major, well-established schools of psychotherapy, grounded in the idea that our thoughts, behaviors, and emotions are deeply interconnected — and that by changing unhelpful patterns of thinking and behavior, we can change how we feel.

CBT-I is the specialized application of CBT for insomnia. As a short-term, structured, and research-based approach, it is widely recommended by international clinical guidelines as the first-line, non-pharmacological treatment for chronic insomnia. Rather than relying on sleeping pills, CBT-I helps you understand how sleep works, identify the thoughts and habits that keep you awake, and build lasting skills to reclaim restful sleep — with results that tend to endure long after the program ends.

In this 6-week group, you'll learn hands-on skills to calm your mind and break the frustrating patterns that keep you up at night:

  • Know more about sleep
  • Better sleep hygiene
  • Master core techniques
  • Restructure negative thoughts
  • Practice relaxation skills
  • Gain peer support

Learn More about the Program:

  • Participants: Adults troubled by insomnia — difficulty falling asleep, waking up multiple times throughout the night, or waking too early in the morning
  • Schedule: 90 minutes every Monday evening, 6 weeks in a row (time may change for future CBT-I groups — contact us for upcoming schedules)
  • Format: Closed group (no new members after the first session), 4–8 members per group
  • Language: English
  • Time & Venue: 18:30 – 20:00 on Mondays, 3rd Floor, Shanghai SinoUnited Hospital (No.350 Middle Jiangxi Road, Huangpu District, Shanghai)
  • Fee: RMB 3,800 per person
  • Registration deadline: Thursday, October 15
  • First session: Monday, October 19

Enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis and confirmed upon payment via the registration link.

If sleep problems are caused by underlying medical conditions, please rule out organic causes before enrolling in this group.
