In Shanghai for over four years now. Fitness lover. Very amateur badminton player. Love reading. Sometimes I write about the little things in this big city.

Spotted: a new "literary cruise" parked on Suzhou Creek. Dayin Bookstore just opened. It's literally shaped like a white cruise ship. From across the water, it looks like it could set sail at any moment, with a cargo hold full of books instead of luggage.

Inside, it's basically a mini literary universe: 200+ works by 115 Nobel laureates, plus corners for other international prize winners and Shanghai authors. There's a deck for river views, a café for coffee-and-book combos, and collectible stamps and souvenirs if you're into that kind of thing.

It's low-key, peaceful, and photogenic, with floor-to-ceiling windows, a glossy white exterior, the works. Good for a chill afternoon browsing and people-watching. If you're near the North Bund and need an excuse to leave your phone behind for an hour, this is it.
