In the past few days, Zhejiang has witnessed a Covid virus outbreak in various locations around the province. As of December 13, there are 44 reported cases in the province, including 2 in Hangzhou, 4 in Ningbo, and 38 in Shaoxing. Responding to this, the municipal government has implemented new travel regulations for people traveling from / to Hangzhou; Ningbo; and Shaoxing in Zhejiang Province.

People who travel from / to these three cities need to provide a negative Covid test within 48 hours.

So:

Scenario 1: If you are traveling from Shanghai to one of these cities, you need to present a negative Covid test to get out of the train station at your destination.

Scenario 2: If you are traveling from one of the three aforementioned cities to Shanghai, you need a negative test to get into the train station at the departure side and out of the train station at the Shanghai side.

Hopefully, these rules change when the situation eases up.

New General Rules:

In accordance with the rising Covid cases in different regions, Shanghai government suggests reducing trips and has set a few updated rules.

Travelers from medium / high risk areas need to report their trip to their neighborhood committee, hotel, and / or place of employment within 12 hours upon arrival.

Travelers from high risk areas will be sent to a specific location for a 14-day group quarantine, and get 4 covid tests on the first, fourth, seventh, and fourteenth day after arrival.

Travelers from medium risk areas don’t have to quarantine, but have to reduce going to crowed areas, and get 2 covid tests on the first and fourteenth day after arrival.

So far, there aren’t any restrictions for travelers from low risk areas, as long as your code is still green. However, if you work for public institutions such as schools or hospitals, you will have to get a Covid test within 48 hours.

If your code is yellow, you will be asked to quarantine at home for 14 days.

If your code is red, you will be sent to a specific location for a 14-day group quarantine.

How do you know if your area is Low, Medium or High Risk ?

Use the MiniProgram 国务院 and click on "Checking Risk Levels (疫情风险查询). It defaults to your city, but you can change to another city too.

Another very useful app is the Ben Di Bao (本地宝) MiniProgram. Click on  Quarantine Policies (隔离政策), enter the name of your departure and destination city and it will show you the current travel restrictions, quarnatine policies and covid test requirements.
