Getting There: Kunshan can be reached by bus, train, taxi or private car. A rountrip shuttle bus to Kunshan is available for anyone going to the Bräugaudi tent. The buses depart on a daily at 5pm from 188 Wusheng Lu (武胜路188号) at People’s Square (South gate of Shanghai Museum) and will go back to Shanghai at 10:30pm from the main entrance of the Kunshan Beer Festival (allow yourself 10-15minutes to get there from the tent). On busy days, more than one bus will be in service, leaving at 5pm and returning at half-hour intervals starting at 10pm, ending at 11pm. Round-trip ticket price is 40rmb per person. You can buy your ticket on the bus but it’s highly recommended to register at beerevent@sh.china.ahk.de because buses fill up on a first come, first serve basis. For larger group bookings separate bus service can be arranged, contact beerevent@sh.china.ahk.de.

If you have a car you can take A11 heading to Nanjing, gateway Kunshan, head in to the center. At the intersection take a left to the center of the city, stay on Qianjing Road. Take A12 heading to Taicang, gateway Zhu Qiao / Kunshan. Take a left to Kunshan. Staying on Qianjing Road you will reach the city center of Kunshan. Parking lots at the fairground will be limited. Taxi to Kunshan from Shanghai would probably run you 300rmb.

Price: Festival tickets are 15rmb. A Bräugaudi Ticket is 120rmb, snack ticket 25rmb, Erdinger beer ticket 40rmb, Bräugaudi beer ticket 30rmb. Emperor table tickets are 1800rmb for up to 8 people and 900rmb for up to 4 people. Tickets for the Emperor tables have to be pre-booked.

The 120rmb will get you two 0.5L beers and two snack tickets. Emperor tables get you three 0.5L beers each plus a set menu with classic German cuisine by Swissotel Kunshan. Beer choices are two traditional Bavarian brews “Helles” or “Weissbraeu”. Erdinger ticket will get you one 0.5L glass.
