About the Artists

Ligeti Quartet

Founded in 2010, the Ligeti Quartet specializes in modern and contemporary repertoire, often commissioning new works and collaborating with leading artists. Named after Hungarian composer György Ligeti, the quartet draws inspiration from his innovative and eclectic musical vision. They have performed at Carnegie Hall, Wigmore Hall, Curtis Institute of Music, Purcell Room, Barbican Centre, and Kings Place. Their collaborations include Anna Meredith, Ksenia Pestrova, Elliott Galvin, Cry Andrew, Laura Jurd, Neil Hannon, Shabaka Hutchings, Sean Nunan, and ensembles such as Ensemble Dissonant, reflecting a commitment to creative and boundary-pushing music-making. The quartet has held residencies at Cambridge University, Sheffield University, and Goldsmiths, University of London.
