The Yuyuan Lantern Festival is back for 2026, stretching across six areas this year - Yuyuan, BFC and The Bund among them: basically turning the whole neighborhood into one long, glowing after-dinner walk. At BFC, things skew festive and slightly surreal. They’ve teamed up with POP MART for a New Year Garden Fair, which means all your favorite cute IP characters show up in fresh Year of the Horse outfits. It’s equal parts traditional lantern vibes and collectible-toy fever dream.
On the performance front, they’re packing the calendar:
Stilt Parade & Tech Pony Dance
Feb 13–15, 18–20, 22–23, 27–Mar 1 | Throughout BFC
Expect elevated performers, prancing “tech” horses, and roaming spectacle.
Fish-Dragon Lantern Parade
Feb 19 & Feb 22 | Throughout BFC
The classic undulating dragon energy, lantern edition.
Chinese-Style Music Performance
Feb 20 | South Zone 1F, Tianma Stage
Traditional sounds, modern staging.
God of Wealth Parade
Feb 21 | Throughout BFC
Cai Shen makes his rounds. If you’ve got financial goals for 2026, now’s the time.
Markets are a big part of the equation too:
The Bund Fortune Market
Feb 20–23 | Fengjing Road
Over 50 festive and design-forward stalls selling New Year gifts, local snacks, and intangible cultural heritage handicrafts — think sugar painting, kingfisher feather art, lantern crafts, and other things you didn’t know you needed until you see them.
Take A Gap Spring Festival Art Festival
Feb 14–28 (closed Feb 16), 11am–10pm | 3F, BFC South Zone
An indoor, handmade art-themed market if you prefer your Spring Festival browsing climate-controlled.
BFC Curated Chinese New Year Market
From Jan 26 | B2 North–South Corridor, BFC
An Oriental-leaning New Year market with traditional goods, heritage items, and trendier creative gifts.
See the official calendar for full schedules and timing details. Tickets for the Yuyuan Lantern Festival are available via QR code.
