Active since the 1960s, Australian-born Shaw works predominantly in tech and virtual forms that focus on the relationship between the artwork and the viewer. To that end, in 2000 he created AVIE (Advanced Visualization and Interaction Environment): billed as the 'world’s first artistically-conceived 360-degree stereoscopic interactive visualization and audification environment', it's essentially a means to show new types of interactive, immersive creative content by not just Shaw, but also a whole host of other artists, with works by Jean Michel Bruyère, Sarah Kenderdine, Ulf Langheinrich and Peter Weibel all making an appearance during the show's 6-month duration. Alongside of all that, expect new works by pioneering Chinese artist, Hu Jieming: Tai Chi (launching 8 August) and Prelude (9 May).
